This story is quite interesting and pleasant to read. When i read for the first time, i was seriously confused with the storylines. It takes several times for me to read and understand the whole story. But with the help of (youtube) which display a video about the story, its make me easier to comprehend the story. The story begins when Walter Mitty imagines himself as the Commander of a Navy hydroplane, who is very domineering and expert about the hydroplane. He summoned his crews to increase the power light. But actually in real life, he is driving his car taking his wife to the hairdresser in the town. He is driving too fast as told by his wife. When he past through a hospital, he imagines to be a surgeon, saving the millionaire banker, Wellington Macmillan's life. Other than that, he imagines that he is in the court and admitted as a man that able to shoot someone from far by his left hand. He was actually trying to remind back what he should buy as told by his wife before. He started to conscious when a girl said to him "puppy biscuits". When he waited outside for his wife at the drugstore, he imagines to be a brave man that willing to sacrifice himself by faced the firing squad.
Walter Mitty is just an ordinary person that wants to be an extraordinary man. He wants to be a perfect person in real life. So, that why he imagines to be a Commander,surgeon and others. He is also forgetful and can't do simple tasks. He forget what he needs to buy as told by his wife. He is not a great driver and lead people to yell and mad at him for his mistakes. He wants to be respectful by other people around him. This shows that he hate with his life and intends to be different. Mrs Mitty is a bossy woman who only knows to summon other people do things for her interest and scold Mr Mitty for doing something wrong.

A Family __ by Guy de Maupassant
The story tells us about a man who had not meet his friend, Simon Radevin for fifteen years. He wondered how will Simon appeared after fifteen years. He was startled when he saw Simon became a stout man but he still full of happiness and enthusiastic man. Simon introduced his daughter and son whose fourteen and thirteen respectively. Simon has five children and three of them are at home. When they arrived at Simon's house, he was startled when he saw Madame Radevin was not longer like before who was skinny, light-haired and insipid girl. He also met with the three others of their children and a paralyzed old man, Madame Radevin's grandfather. The occurrence started when they had dinner together. During the dinner, the old man make witty action by the way he ate and response towards the foods. The old man likes to eat any sweet foods that is bad for his health. When he request to eat more sweetened rice, Simon refused to give as he said that the old man had eaten too much and he can have no more. The main character felt so sad as based on the verse ; " there was nothing left for him to do in his life ,nothing whatever. He had one single wish left,one sole pleasure ; why not grant him that last solace until he died?"
In my opinion, it would be disrespectful when the children laughed towards the old man. They shouldn't make fun of his inability. Simon should be a good father, a good role model for his children. For the main character himself, i think that he must to understand the problem face by the old man ; he cannot eat all the sweets for the sake of his health. Maybe the main character need to advice his friend,Simon to be a good father.
In my opinion, it would be disrespectful when the children laughed towards the old man. They shouldn't make fun of his inability. Simon should be a good father, a good role model for his children. For the main character himself, i think that he must to understand the problem face by the old man ; he cannot eat all the sweets for the sake of his health. Mango Moods __ by Reeta Mani
The story is very meaningful and pleasant to read. It is about Chitra's life which i think that it is really exist in someone's life out there somewhere. The story begins when Chitra enjoy herself eating the tangy mangoes chunks and relaxed in the courtyard. She started to reminisce her wonderful childhood years spent in a village with her parents. She was pregnant at that time and she was so happy because she had waited for a long years (eight years) to conceive. She also hard to believe that her mother-in-law,Narayani amma begin to love, giving her more attention and treat her well. Her mother-in-law is a very fierce, recalcitrant and strict person and she always being scolded, teased and tortured with cruel barbs for her barren womb. She also had been scolded because she had invited Jason for lunch but her mother-in-law refused. She had suggested to Prasad to go for a medical check-up but it was just futile to convince Prasad to get himself tested. She had no choice but to suffer and keep praying for the best. Thus, it was fortune for her when she knew that she was pregnant and the family heir will be born.
I think that Prasad need to be a good husband and father by have his own mind, not just to take his mother side and follows every dictation. He need to think what's the best for his family but he still need to respect his mother. He can discuss with his mother and wife about any problem they had, not just to avoid from it as based on the verse ;"Prasad chose not to defy his mother, lest he incur her wrath. He started spending more time at office to avoid any altercations." Same goes to Narayani amma , she shouldn't be so recalcitrant and partial towards her son, Prasad and her daughter-in-law,Chitra.

The Open Window by H. H. Munro (Saki) (1870-1916)
The story starts when Framton Nuttel went to visit Mrs Suppleton by the dictation of his sister due to rest his nerves. When he arrived at the house, Mrs Suppleton's niece, Vera entertained him while waiting for her aunt. Vera told him about the family tragedy when Mrs Suppleton's husband and her two young brothers went out for shooting and never came back. She said that her aunt always wait for them and leaves the window open in case they will return home. Framton Nuttel starts to feel uncomfortable and awkward with the environment. As they started to talk about his illness and purpose of his visit, there were three men walking towards the open window. They were the men whose Mrs Suppleton waits for. He begins to shiver and afraid. Thus, he decided to ran away from the house.
When i read this story for the first time, i thought that it was a ghost tale. But when i read it again, i'm really sure that it is not a ghost tale as i thought. The "ghost tale" which was told by Vera is just deceptive and fake. Vera is just a young fifteen girl and she likes to lie people even with her aunt when she told that Framton Nuttel ran because he is afraid of the dog. She adds a lie and manipulated to make her story ghastly. Framton Nuttel shouldn't have to totally believe with her story. All the tragedy that she told him is just a product of her outrageous imagination.

My Friend Luke __ by Fernando Sorrento

The story was very good and interesting, thought it seems kind a hilarious story, it can lead to some deep thoughts. My first thought in reading the story is it refers to something inside of someone. Luke is just an ordinary person that full of secrets in his life. This is because Luke always expressing himself on the bus, its the only place where i think he could feels free, satisfactions and become himself. He is a pathetic man who has many lacks in every aspect of his life which is reflected in how he was treated by his bully of violent and greedy boss, don Aquerontido, his wife and son. He has to work for long hours because of his humongous tasks given by his boss. His salary is also ludicrously low which causes his wife decided to quit his son from secondary school. He is also a poor man based on the story which are "wearing a very old suit that shines from age. He only owns one shirt,the one he wore for the first time on the day of his marriage,he also owns one tie".
The fact is that Luke is so humble in himself makes him interesting to be alone. He is a rare person to see and i think that he would be called as a "freak" in our world today. But i know that there is person like him out there somewhere.
